Girl Talk: Care for Straight Hair |
Some women are born curly haired, some frizzy, some wavy, some with fine strands, while others have thicker ones. I was blessed with straight hair. And through the years, I never did take time to take care of my hair, and now, it is not as straight as it was before.
Straight hair is by nature, fine and thin. Those women on TV who show off their long locks that look so thick they could pass for a curtain have, in fact, lots of fine strands of hair.
Here are some basic care tips for straight locks:
- To take care of straight hair, look for shampoos gentle enough for daily shampooing. If you want to use conditioning products, make sure they are light, such as sprays and NOT creams. And you have to make sure to wash them out well, because conditioners tend to become the ultimate death of fine hairs as they drag it down.
- To create volume, use a mousse or gel on the roots of your hair. For better effect, go against the natural parting of your hair. Better yet, tip your head upside down while for a minute or two.
- To create some bounce and body to straight hair, find thickening shampoos and make them your BFFs. These usually have panthenol, which makes each hair strand thicken.
While straight hair looks lovely, it can also be a bit lifeless. Unlike curly hairs, which will be discussed next Thursday. :)
Cheers!

About Me: even when she has fairy wings on, this girl is anything BUT dainty. perhaps the size, the weight, and the personality alone are just too much for her to be considered delicate, prim, proper, and refined. this girl with the mud smudged cheeks has been down on the ground one to many times. these times forced her to be tougher, smarter, and more savvy than she has ever been. perhaps she will always be, never dainty.
